Tip up or tip down?

Doesn't really matter. . . I'm attracted to the blade design and to be flexible ~ I can adjust to tip up or tip down.

If it's a real pain ~ carry in a pouch and them you can remove the clip and carry any way that your want ! ;)

Tip down. Mayo TNT's are too sharp... and my fingers are too valuable...:)

There was a time when I would have replied "tip up" without hesitation. But lately I've acquired some tip down knives which I like very much indeed, and the tip down configuration is growing on me. Though tip down is probably safer, I'd say that there isn't a broad, general answer. At least for me, tip up or tip down depends on the particular knife. Tip up might work better for some knives, tip down for others.
