TIP UP or TIP DOWN

Tip up. I can't carry some of my older knives that are tip down anymore, The hole/thumb studs ire in the wrong spot and the knife has to flipped over to open it. With tip up, I don't have to think about it or look. It comes out of my pocket ready to open.

When you grab it out of your pocket, try doing so in such a way that your fingers are kinda pointing sideways. My knives fall into grip more perfectly than tip-up this way, and I actually prefer tip-down more now (if I weren't already carrying tip-sideways). Then only reason I'm still using tip-up is because of the Wave

mostly tip up, but imho its just whatever ya like best/train with,

Tip up is much more comfortable for me and it exposes less of the knife.
