Tip up, tip down, but WHERE on the pocket? Seam?

If one is going to carry in their back pocket, I can definitely see carrying it tip-down, against the seam. However, unless you're carrying it in the middle or toward your centerline, then tip-up against the seam is the way to go.

I honestly don't see how people poked themselves with a T-U knife if it's against the seam. No TD, I have poked myself a 2 or 3 times. I forget all of them, but the one that comes to mind immediately is the BM DeJaVu (TD).

As to where in your pocket, that's up to you, but I would think outward (Away from your centerline), most likly against the seam.

Now, if you want to carry IWB, I would think TD would be the way to go. It seems like a good way to carry, but I have enough stuff IWB (My handgun, for one, usually).

The way my knife is configured the spine is going to be toward the inside of my pants, not the seam, in a tip down carry. It would open up into my crotch, and the clip is going to be on the opposite side of the handle that has the notched opening to allow access better to the thumb hole. I had allen screwdrivers that can adjust the pivot but not the screws that hold the clip. If i turn it on the same side but tip up, then the spine will be to the seam and not the inside of the pocket.

Right now, I don't see how the blade will inadvertantly open up and stab me, but there have been two, three posts here that says it happens. I could turn the clip to the other side but then it would be on the side that I right hand open the blade and I feel that it would be uncomfortable, right?

By the way, any hint on the size of the screws that hold the clip into place?

My persistence has no 6 torx screws for clip and scales and number 8 torx for the pivot. If you're planning to adjust the screws, there's one thing to look out for. Don't just turn your torx bits without exerting a reasonable amount of inward pressure because you might strip the torx slots on the head of the screws.
