Tip up?

I can't see people do this, with the blade against the seem of pocket there's no room for mine to open.

This ^^^!! I only carry tip up. Even if a knife I really like the design of (and there are many).. I will pass if I can't carry tip up. Some I will drill and tap for tip up if possible.
But, if you carry a different way, you should carry the knife for the way you carry said knife. Tip up is not always optimal, depending on how you carry. For me it is.. others, not so much.

Few beers and you'll be all good. Rub some sawdust in it, put some super glue on it and call it a day. Feel better bro.

Ive never had a blade open up on me and Not know it, maybe its because i carry such large knives, if it opens i usually feel it shift in my pocket. Much blood has been, and will continue to be shed because of this hobby, i wouldn't have it any other way.

The knife was in right side of right pocket. I can't carry front pocket with a clip, there's usually a tape measure there. I wish I would have had the doc take a pic. And yes, the teller was a little freaked out. I still feel like a jackwagon.

For me, it depends on comfort and speed of deployment. The only knives I prefer to carry tip-down are the RAT-1 and Spyderco PM2. Everything else (so far), I carry tip-up.

^^^ I was trying to say "comfort of deployment" as well as "speed of deployment."
