Tips On Removing Adhesive On Your Blade

With having 2 little kids in the house, we have Boogie Wipes. I've used them to remove tape, and clean the liners. It's saline based. Grape scent is nice.

If you have been cutting tape and have a sticky residue you can try things like rubbing alcohol or acetone, or even WD-40. If the stuff has dried it can be harder to remove.

I had some dried tape residue on a window one time. I tried WD-40 and acetone, neither one worked, but rubbing alcohol worked well.

It depends upon the type of adhesive, but I keep a small bottle each of;
Coleman Fuel
Ronson Lighter Fluid
WD-40
Rubbing Alcohol
Carb Cleaner
So far, I haven't run up against a residue that would resist at least one of these.

Lighter fluid (like for a Zippo) works well, also prouducts like Goof-Off and Oops Cleaned and Remover. Or anything with alcohol in it, like Purell hand sanitizer.

the oil from your nose. Not kidding, it is magic. However, even that is a PITA to me. So I don't open boxeswwith my EDC anymore. I always have a cheap box cutter around. when it gets caked up with packing tape gunk, just break off a fresh blade.

Lighter fluid, WD40, rubbing alcohol -- tried them all and they work (gonna have to try the oil on nose, though).

Also turpentine, gasoline, paint thinner work extremely well.

"Snot your average wipe". They come in handy for so many things.
But to the OP's question...Goof Off works well and I second Mag's suggestion for oil off your nose...believe it, or not.

Likewise. Some adhesives are just different and require a different remover. I keep all these plus acetone and GooGone

Ronsonol on a stiff nylon brush (like below), followed by a wipe down with mineral oil soaked rag.

ANY oil, even the stuff you cook with, if you're patient. Smear the oil on, put it in the sink, go to bed. Next am, the glue wipes off. Don't know how long it actually takes-when I wake up in the middle of the night, I have other things on my mind. If you're in a hurry: Oops, Goo-Gone. Used Oops today to remove tape glue from the "blades" of antique-shop cake-cutters. Takes it off NOW.

Goop-off, for a name brand.

Fingernail polish remover is mostly acetone and works.

Steamy water has been known to work.

Olive oil is safe and effective but take some time. You can use a toothbrush to speed up the process.
