Tips please on how to mount tweezer type fuller for Damascus die? Here are some pictures of the die and tweezer type fuller of what I think I want to make. As you can see in the second picture these dies are the type that lock or semi accordian the billet. The die tweezer fuller I have in the photo will not line up perfectly when used and these need to line up perfectly every time it is used so as to semi accordian the billet. Any body have any tips for keeping them alighned during use?

How about using alignment pins.Mount studs in one half and have holes in the other half.

I May do pins. It will be used on a power hammer.

Thanks for the tips guy's. I got it together today and think it should work fine. Again, thanks.

This is what is referred to as a Danly die set:

I used to use these to mount tooling to run in stuff like an OBI press. That was a somewhat different application - but I still think it might be perfect.

Here is the kicker - these things go used for about nothing if you find them on ebay or other auction. You just gut the old tooling out of it and mount your stuff. I used to have a bunch of them laying around I could have given you.

Generally the lower half is mounted to your shoe/anvil/bottom and the top half is mounted to your ram/hammer/top, though you can just mount the bottom and open it with die springs.
