Tips wanted for starting a small garden.

My grape tomatos had no issues whatsoever it was only the big ones.

Here you go.

I don't have a problem probably because when my tomatoes start to ripen I pull them and finish them off on the window sill, or porch railing, they still taste way better than anything you can buy.

My family has always gardened and I was taught by my grandparents and parents. They told me that the plants would produce more if you pulled them, so that is what I do. It also keeps the weight off the vines so they don't break. Chris

I started my own first garden last year. Plants are tougher than you think.

I helped my dad when I was younger so I had a little experience.

More or less all I did was follow the directions on the seeds. Water them when they looked a little withered.

At the end of the year we were impressed with what we received compared to our knowledge, experience, and effort.

Very rewarding experience. I'm liking this raised bed idea, might have to try it.

Great source of info, thanks.

I would have gotten dozens and dozens of 'maters last year if it wasn't for the cracking. I'll be pretty darn happy if I can get rid of that cracking this year :D

my thought was that they might have been more susceptible to splitting if they were laying on the ground. lots of tomatoes have been grown on steaks so I'd guess it wasn't that. might have just been an odd genetic.
