i know I am still on an auto kick since it is now legal to carry them in Illinois, but I was surprised at how little I cared about the ZT 0393 when I saw for sale today. I guess miracles to happen because I used to hot for every titanium flipper I saw.

I never to hot for every titanium flipper I saw but I am still remarkable about how many titanium flippers there are out there being for sold.

I seem to go through phases. For years, I bought every single Spyderco, but that eventually died down. I hope I am ready to slow down on the autos because 6061 aluminum and 154CM is getting monotonous too.

I will say that one thing that I am tired of with ZT is that all of their knives are over 3”. The only ZT I really love is the 0900 which is 2.75”. It would be great if they made a 3 oz. knife with a thinner blade that was under 3” because the thick edge of the 0900 does limit it somewhat, but I guess 3.25-4” is what sells.

I never was a huge fan of titanium flippers, although I own a few and I used to own more. I don't buy knives any more with metal scales on both sides - titanium or otherwise. The ones I have that are metal scales on both sides, if I keep them they'll probably just be collector pieces that get carried rarely, if ever.

I would not complain if every folder made right now were a ti frame lock. I personally love them and all the different designs that are coming out with them. That is the fun thing about the knife industry though. If they only made knives I like or you like, we would all be pretty bored with it.

I'm not. I tried a number of lock types (Liner, Frame, Compression, Ball Bearing, Axis, Slipjoint...doesn't quite count I guess) and I like Framelocks the most. Compression lock is a close second. Also no complains about blade sizes here, 3.5 is just about right, up to 4. But hey, I always go oversized with all my tools, I'm the only person with a 2 pound hammer in his personal tool box at work o_O:D on the other hand whenever they need something heavy or stuck moved guess who gets asked first :rolleyes:.

I’ve had every lock they’ve made, and frame locks are my favorite, minus the flipper of course.

Agreed on the overload of Ti FL Flippers in general (cough Kizer). I used to buy all the cool ZTs...never bought a 2017 model and don’t plan on a 2018. I do fancy the Koenig and Liong Mah knives though. I did just buy a Hinderer Half Track and am so far entertained.

I handled a Hinderer XM24 with the slim or skinny blade, and it was mighty nice!

I saw those. The skinny intrigued me a bit. My experience with RHK so far is XM18 meh, XM24 fine, Half Track very nice. The 18 and 24 are from 2-3 years ago so hopefully their consistency is better now.

I have been on titanium flippers for maybe 4 years, I have slowly gravitated toward carrying a fixed blade instead. I guess I'm tired of folders in general.

Ti frame locks = I love.

Flippers = I hate.

There are lots of handle materials , lock types and blade steels to choose from so overall I'm quite happy with the world of knives.

I go through phases too. I've been getting hooked on small/medium size fixed blades lately.

I was the same way but wanted to get back into a Ti Framelock that was more affordable and still US made so I went ZT. That meant adjusting to a flipper but it's going well so far.

To each their own. I detest them.

But Ti frame locks (themselves) are probably my favorite lock type. Along with a hole or stud to open them.
