titanium annodizing

Buy a variac on ebay (Variable AC power supply), next buy a full bridge wave rectifier (Turns AC to DC) and anodize them yourself.
I did it for under $50.

Been thinking about that. I was wondering if I could etch the titanium by coaing with wax then scribing out what I wanted etched.
 
Never tried that, but I have anodized one voltage. Machined a logo, then anodized at a lower voltage and the lower voltage color took only where I exposed the fresh titanium. The higher voltage color was not changed. It looked really cool.
I dont remember where my voltage+color chart went to, but google and I am sure you could find one.
It is super easy to anodize Ti.
