Nice design! How do you put on that carbide edge? I assume it can't be (but also doesn't need to be) sharpened?

Those are sick!
Much appreciated!

Thanks! I apply the carbide with a dedicated "Carbidizer" machine, it is a lot like welding. The carbide is part of the Ti after that and will never flake or wear off.

They are self sharpening on abrasive materials like cardboard and will stay sharp for a very long time without maintenance. They are easy to sharpen with most setups, just raise a burr from the microbeveled (non-carbide) side and then strop off. The edge will build quickly and takes a bit longer than normal to remove.

The carbide/Ti combo excels on abrasive materials like cardboard, cloth, meat, rope, rubber, veggies, bone, etc. I prefer steel for whittling hard woods but the edge stability is still very good.

I like to carry mine in my front pocket, it weighs less than most folders at 1 oz total (knife and sheath) and is still substantial enough at 6" total for most daily tasks.
