Ti folders like Mission's and W. Thomas's fill an important niche for us sweaty folks who are also around water and gunk a lot.
Their edge holding isn't actually that bad depending on what you tend to cut. If your into cutting cans and such they won't last as long as other blade materials but for average things like rope, fish, etc they're fine.
The only really irritating thing is that the nylatron (or whatever it is) ball detents, both makers use, wear out really quickly. In fact they should supply a baggy of spare detents w/each knife.
I suppose its better than having a hardened steel detent cut a groove into the blade "tang" but its a pain to replace the things provided you can even get the them out.
At least w/the W. Thomas knives you can poke the detent out from the other side w/a paper clip and turn it around to a less worn angle and use it again. Getting the Mission MPF detent out pretty much destroys whats left of the detent.
The Mission is dual ground though which seems to work better than W.T. chisel grind.
