I'd like to put titanium bolsters pined (( would rather not use screws))on a fixed blade knife can it be anodized after it is on the blade or should it be fit and anodized then put on the knife?
Thanks , Art

Hi Art - the Ti will have to be anodized before you put it on the knife, unless you can completely insulate the steel in the blade.

much easier to do as a hidden tang

That is what I was afraid of I wanted to do bolsters because I'v never seen it done (( with out screws)). Guess I'll have to do a hidden tangs, there has to be a way I'll just have to think about it a year or two.
Thanks, Art

not sure how well you could peen Ti pins but that might be worth a shot (jsut make sure they are the same grade Ti )

If you are determined to use titanium, I would use CP-1 for the guard & pins. CP-1 will peen but it is not easly. Use the same alloy for the guard and pins or you will see the pins when anodized.

You can anodize after installation but the process is not safe IMO.

Butch, that knife looks great. I especially like how the matching spacer sets off the guard.
