The Benchmade model 42 is coming out in April. But what I want to see is BladeRigger come out with some new concealed weapons. I check this forum everyday to see what's new and improved so I am going to take this opportunity to share what I am keeping an eye out for. A quality Balisong, give benchmade some competition, Some new titanium weapons such as an extendable baton, walking cane,punch knife, or a form of titanium knuckles. Just some ideas I had, let me know what you think.

Bandit,Now the Ti knuckles sounds like a great idea. Knuckle dusters have been mentioned in one of the tactical forums, but there's always the legal problem. It was also mentioned that you could use a big climing carabiner. I say how about a JSP Ti knuckle that looks like a climing carabiner but with subtle ergonomic improvements over the 'biner.

There are a lot of things on my 'want list' that I don't know if I'll ever get to buy, but if James can make one of these I'll order one right now!

James might be talked into making a set of Custom Knucks out of Titanium, and I might add, I would be interested in a pair of them too.
He would probably not make them on a regular, i.e., Semi-Custom Production basis because of legalities involved.
Given James knowledge of the human hand and catering to same, I'm sure you would find no better pair/pattern for Knuckles.

count me in as well! i just ordered, along with a custom sap, a Keepsafe- from Chas Clements. it's like a large ring shaped so your index and ring fingers can squeeze it tight. you can easily put a good dent in a table with one. if JSP worked something out along the same lines it would be awesome with boxing techniques!!

Alright you Wildmen! Whatever you do, don't call Piorek and tell him, "Don says you can make Custom Knuckles out of Titanium!"
I'm positive that he can do it, but he may choose not to for a half dozen reasons, one of which may be cost, you guys may not want to pay for it!
However, it never, ever hurts to ASK! Ha Ha Ha Ha!

I'm just calling to see if it's possible and if so, how much? I'm also going to go to REI and see if any of the standard 'biners will work good. I wouldn't be interested in a BladeRigger product if it would only be a small improvement and cost 10x as much, but like you said "It doesn't hurt to ask". I also wouldn't be too upset if I had to ditch a $10 biner in a hairy situation. An anodized, custom, high dollar 'biner' from BladeRigger and it would be a crime to throw it in an alley.
Well I talked to James on mon., I just haven't had time to post. He said yes, he could certainly make such an item but it would be very labor intensive which means big bucks. He also said the more you look to improve the ergonomics of such an item it's going to look less and less like a carabiner. That makes sense. His genral opinion is, if you're going to carry a weapon why not carry something that gives you better reach (stick,V-Gar, ect...). I can understand that, but a knuckle duster does have the advantage of being compact. So that's about it. I don't have the $ for a custom knuckle duster but James said it would be possible on a custom basis. Who here is wealthy enough to have one made.
I'm still going to REI at some point and see if I can find a regular carabiner that fits my hand ok. Has anybody actually punched on a heavy bag with a carabiner on their hand?

I can answer that last one-
1- Yes. 2- Ouch. Seems there's not much of a 'biner actually inside of the hand (and what is there is round) to keep it from rolling & catching the knuckle ridge with a square punch. Ridgehand-style & hammer-fist blows only please. If your hands are small enough, you can put one over the back of the hand & cover the palm & Metacarpals. This allows the regular use of the hand. Once upon a time I was able to do this. BTW- don't coun't on the "it's only my keys" explanation to work with most bouncers- it probably will not. YMMV Good luck.
