Titanium frame lock questions.

So I made my first frame lock frame out of AEB-L, and have decided that I want to try titanium next. Seeing as i had to oil quench to not flatten the lock, it resulted in a little warpage, which I didn't notice until AFTER it was tempered, so correcting it is a pain.

So, I looked at titanium from AKS, and their only Ti of the thickness I'd want, is in their "standard" grade. Is that good enough for a frame? I'm thinking of going pretty small on the thickness, since I plan to add wooden scales to it - is around .050 too thin, with Ti?

Also, what's the process of tempering the frame lock bend?

And I'd worry about the contact point between the blade and the lock. Could I harden just that part of the lock, with a torch, and if so, what is the process?

If you use titanium for the liners you do not heat treat it. You just bend it as is necessary. Standard grade only refers to the fact it will have scratches on it that you can still remove. I like the size .048 to .054 for almost all my folders.

Wow, that's much easier than having to deal with heat treating steel!

Thanks for the info.
