Titanium Framelock Customs Under $600?

If your lucky you can get a Laconico small jasmine from Ray for 550.00.... i mean real lucky!

Yeah I don't think I've ever seen one of the ones that he posts take more than 10 mins to sell.

Tom Krein Alpha if he's still taking orders, best $600 or so you'll spend.

Really like this one. I will definitely ask him if he's available. I don't frequent the custom knives on BF, do you know how often they pop up for sale?

As for everyone else, thank you. I very much appreciate it as I'm trying to familiarize myself with some talented makers. If anyone else has a skilled maker they know of, please let me know.

EDIT: The Laconico is very nice as well. A little plain, but definitely open for customization. Honestly, I think I'd take the F3 over it for the same price, but I don't have any other reasoning than just the aesthetics.

Check out John W Smith as well.

As far as overall quality and f&f go, his folders are unparalleled at the price point.

I'm not much of a framelock guy, but I'm very happy with my Three Sisters Forge 'Beast'. As for the terminology of 'custom', 'semi-custom', 'hand fitted production' etc., I'll let others play that game.

Was looking at a Damascus Beast for a while. How thick are the titanium scales? I'm fond of overbuilt/stout folders and I'm unsure how big the Beast is. I do dig the pattern though, and the blade shape is awesome.

Thanks for the response.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the Damascus Beast is a liner lock, not a framelock.

And am i missing something? I thought Curtiss' were mid techs?...

I don't think you're missing anything.

At the moment I'm growing closer to the Curtiss.

I am curious because I don't know much about the Curtiss F3, but if you are going mid tech anyway, is there something about the Curtiss that draws you to it more than, say, a Sebenza? Especially for what I assume (?) will be significant extra coin.

I've never been attracted to the Sebenza, it's just a little too plain. I believe the F3 is a custom, and I would like the handmade feel. I like the spanto grind, and from what I hear it's a great flipper.

Anyone know anything about Peter Rassenti knives? An Alpha Integral is my grail; would it be possible to get one remotely close to my price point?

No, it would not be possible lol...just shooting straight with ya.

If you're open to mid-techs also check out the Wilson combat eagle.

"Custom made" indicates that it's entirely made to your specifications, from the ground up, as opposed to a mid tech with variations.

Tom is about a year or so out currently. I just checked (he recently took another twenty for his list) and I'm pretty sure his book is closed until he catches up with orders. He turns out a lot of knives, so I'm sure he'll reopen his book in the next year or so. Alphas sell at a substantial premium on the secondary market (yes, they're that good). His IKBS versions are as smooth as any folder I've handled.

I have the F3 with a 4" blade. I'm a fan. Plus after you get it save some money and you can pimp it. Also take a look at Jeremy Robertson (calavera cutlery). My el patron is absolutely my favorite folder. Good luck

I Think a El Patron 3.25 or a Dwayne Dwyer Custom SNG (slightly used) , Curtis f3 or even a XM-18 3.5 .. I own all of them and they all are great..
At that price no matter what you get your getting something of quality and precision..

Looking into a Dwyer SnG... Cheapest I've seen was around $1,000 but that was new. A Ti/Ti custom Strider would be an awesome knife for me.
