Wow, your work never seizes to amaze. Love how the design stays flush through the lock and pocket clip. Keep the eye candy coming.

I really dig on these knives, but I'm really afraid to get another. I lost one one day, it bummed me out for weeks.

Keep the eye candy coming.

Eye candy this is not... I've had 2 of Alans knives and both were not only beautiful, but real performers.

PS Alan has redefined "strong detent" at least in my book ;)

You really out did yourself on this 1, Alan.

If this knife wasn't ' too nice to use....haha' it would be mine.

It's a Beautiful Knife, Alan

I'm quickly becoming a big fan of your knives. Great balance of simplicity and elegance, and never over the top. Whether it's the color/engraving like this or some of your beautiful filework, you make some great looking knives (and I'm sure they are performers as well). Someday I'll justify pulling the trigger on one of these!

As an owner of one of his knives, I can attest they are indeed as nice as they look. My piece is perfect. Nothing out of place, amazingly fast action, strong dtent. Alan davis makes an amazing knife, especially when you consider the extremely reasonable price he charges. I am a huge fan.

Thanks folks for all the kind words!

I have talked to several ABS mastersmiths with a great deal of experience in bluing salts, the regular salts tend to make the pattern of damascus wash out and the nitre salt which works great for bolsters is done at about 570f - 650f which would ruin the temper and result in the blade only being about a RC54 vs, the Rc 59 it is at now.

This one is meant to be a user!

Alan,
Wow, what a beauty! I love the blue flame pattern on the handle. Wish I would have seen this one sooner!

well it seems you are one step ahead of me in the thought process :D

I wonder if the nitre salt temps could be worked into the tempering temps so its not a huge difference in rc?
