Titanium knives?

That thing's too pretty to be real. Must be a holographic image or sumthin'.

Maybe a cyber-forged obsession wielded via the mind-field of some compulsion-ridden, blade-fixated web-wizard?

A while ago I also thought titanium machete was a good idea. But I just couldn't get past the cost thing.

If you're talking about grinding two feet of flat ground, distal tapered titanium machete blade, that would cost you about close to a thousand dollars!

I like my machetes disposable. If only someone have a cheap way of processing this material.

actually, you could produce them quite cheaply if you really went for it, made a mold and cast the things....of course it would take a considerable cash outlay at first, but after about 10,000 you could probably sell them for just about $150 each.

Actually Tom, somebody already did something similar to that some years ago. I believe they were called Tygrys knives.
Except he used O1 for the core and titanium outside. Light, strong, flexible and it would cut pretty good too.
For some reason, they are not around anymore. Maybe the idea didn't work so well after all...Anybody here on the forums have one of their blades? I believe their first model ( perhaps their only model) was designed by Tai Goo. I like the idea about 3V though...

Tom, I just don't deserve your gracious assistance. You really are too kind...

I think it's only fair that I pay you a nice fat royalty on all the CPM-3V and Titanium san mai blades I sell. Would 99% be sufficient?

I think I've heard there can be delamination problems with knives that have a non-stainless center and stainless outsides. Maybe true with titanium, maybe not.
