Titanium liner wear

I've only had one titanium liner lock knife, a 2013 Emerson CQC8. Well, I had 3 of them trying to find an acceptable one to keep.

The one I thought was a keeper did quickly travel towards the opposite liner, and when "waved" it would move over significantly. Also the lock was sticky and didn't get better.

Sold it for those and other reasons.

I'd take that as more of a condemnation of Emerson's terrible quality control than the fact that it was a titanium liner lock. I had a CQC-7B that, new, fresh out of the box, could be closed from the locked position without touching the lock bar, about as easily as closing a SAK.

I once handled a handful of the same model at GPK (7Vs, IIRC) and everyone of them had objectionable lock issues (stick/rock/slip) new out of the box.

TBC LEXK plus. I have no first hand info regarding the angles used in the locks.
Those are fun knives. Contact Trevor and see what he says about it. If it were to happen, would he fix?

My LEXK is a frame lock. It's action is amazing and lockup does vary. It's fairly late but doesn't affect the functionality or use of the knife what so ever as it's designed well.
Never had his liner locks but I want a few.

I have never had any problem with knives from quality makers. That said -if you spend all day opening and closing your knife, for no reason other than play, you will wear out the lock quicker than if you use the knife in a normal manner. The lock has a lifespan. The more useless wear the quicker you reach that end. It's a knife, not worry beads :). Use it at such and it will last your lifetime or more.

I had a brand new Emerson Bowie that did the same things. Mine also had a stripped handle scale screw. The knife was purchased new from an authorized dealer, and was promptly returned.
