Is anyone using titanium liners on slipjoints?

I was trying to shave weight and create a slimmer profile. So I am wondering if there is a good reason titanium is not used as liners?

I use it for slip-joints, but then again mine are screwed together. You could most likely also use CP titanium because it does not need spring memory like 6AL4V.

There have been some good threads, mostly over in the traditional forum, about the strength of linerless slipjoints. The consensus seems to be that as long as you have strong enough ferules around the pivot pin and a tough scale material (like micarta), a shadow pattern doesn't lose any strength by not having liners. That would give you much bigger decreases in thickness and weight than using titanium.

I know Ray Kirk has used titanium on his scagel folders and Brett Dowell has made the whole side panels of his slip joints out of thick titanium.
