Titanium Mini Santoku with Carbide Edge

Cool! I really like how you applied the carbide; sort of a faux hamon. Nice finish on the titanium also.

Thanks for the stopping by  Yeah I didn't really want to just put a straight line of carbide across the edge. So I attempted to get a little artsy :D I think it turned out pretty good. Goes well with the faux damascus pattern as well.

I would like to handle one of your Drone knives one of these days. That is a great design.

Is the carbide too hard so be sharpened? Sorry the whole carbide thing is new to me, ive been away for too long :)

You can sharpen the carbide with ceramic and diamond. But if you apply carbide to both sides of the edge and then sharpen normally with a V edge....then carbides will be removed from the actual edge and whats left over is the substrate material (titanium). That kinda defeats the purpose of utilizing the harder carbide material as a cutting edge.
