I'd like to make a knife with titanium bolsters and use titanium pins to rivit them in place. But can that be done? what grade should I look for, for those pins? I have some 6al 4v, but I guess grade 2 would be a better choice?

To be as invisible as possible, pins in a bolster should be the same material as the bolsters. Titanium is tough and light, but it isn't like working carbide. I don't see why you should have any problems pinning Ti with Ti pins.

I get guys coming in the store with titanium wedding bands that are scratched and dinged. They are upset, because they thought titanium is supposed to be a really hard metal. I tell them that titanium bands are lighter and stronger than gold, but the metal is a cousin of aluminum, not diamond.

I have had good success hiding pins made from cp1 titanium. I'd bet you could hide 6-4 but I would ream the hole only very slightly conical at the surface, leave the pins only slightly proud and go very slow when trying to expand the pins.
