The shop is shuttered as I'm packing to relocate to SoCal. Uncertain when or if I'll be able to reestablish operations once I get settled... things are rather chaotic and so much is up in the air.
Best of luck with the move, Steve! Hope things calm down and you can get back to your hobby of learning how and making new scales.

Hey man. I really like all the work you have done. Would u be interested is selling any of your endela scales? I can't find them ANYWHERE. I've thought about trying to make some like you out of g10 or micarta , but idk what I'd do about the back spacer/slot for locking mechanism spring thing.

Hey I’m a California native myself. If your production ever picks back up I’d love you discuss some military scales but if not I hope you enjoy the state while it lasts.

Here's a long overdue update on my situation following my relocation from central Oregon to SoCal...

Where I ended up is back in my hometown of Long Beach... however I had to downsize my life so greatly to accommodate the housing situation... and the major compromise ended up requiring the selling off of my CNC machining centers. Well... to be entirely truthful I had to eliminate the entire inventory of shop equipment as I was unable to find affordable rental/lease space to allow my operations to make the move. So I am permanently shuttered and no longer doing anything involving knives.

With regards to the TITANIUM modified profile Endela scales... that endeavor has also ceased. I was forced to cancel my remaining contract with the Chinese aerospace machining firm that were producing the scale sets. I do however have 30 sets remaining from my initial PROOF order. The caveat is that upon receipt I performed a random check of the liner pocket depth as this was a most critical dimension requirement for allowance of a simple scale swap with only the need to perform a minor profile modification of the liner nose at the pivot end. I discovered in my random measurement sampling that there were minor pocket depth inconsistencies. What that meant was that this particular batch of scale sets would not be offered for DIY scale swaps. I would hold these 30 sets back and only offer them mounted on complete knives after performing the needed additional work for fit and finish. That never happened.

So this is the situation. IF anyone wishes to acquire a set of these titanium scales I will offer them at a large discount. The possible work required at the buyers end would be a shimming of the Endela stainless liners to flush out to the inner surface of the scale for smooth and proper blade operation.

IF this sounds appealing to anyone please let me know...

Steve (BOOMER52)
