Does anyone made a titanium scale to replace the g10 scale on the 0560 models?

I've been looking at G10/Kryptoglow/etc... but think it would be cool to have titanium all around... Couldn't seem to find any though.

Thoughts?

I haven't seen one with two Ti slabs, but I'm sure it could be done. Or you can wait on the 0801 to ship...

I make g10 scales and have enough ti to make 4 scales. I have had the idea rolling around for a while. The concept would be for replacing the steel liner and g10 scale with one solid piece of titanium. There was also talk of pocketing the back side of the ti so that it would be even lighter. The idea is currently on my back burner bit if there is a lot of interest I could get to making them

at what level of cost? i might be interested in a ti front side scale for my 0561... then anodized green

I'm definitely interested - depending on the cost, of course. I honestly have no idea how much something like that would cost to produce - but if you'd be interested in doing it... I'd be interested buying one. Let me know and I'll start saving. I think it would be pretty cool... even more so if they're rare.

Save one for me :D hehe. That's a really great idea though. Your cnc presicion is very good, but going from g10/micarta to ti is definitely different. I would be interested in one as well

Count me in as well. I'd be even more interested assuming that the texture, ridges and luster matches the current titanium side. I think it'd look great but need it as light as possible.

Depending on price, I'd be very interested, especially if they are a direct replacement including the mounting holes for the clip so it could be lefty tip-up carry.

Thanks SHOKDU. I contacted him last night and exchanged a few emails. Seems very reasonable. I'm probably going to have him do a scale for me. All of his work is custom one-offs that he does on the knife, so instead of just making a scale and sending it, you have to send him the knife and he matches it all up. Trying to figure out what pattern I want to put on the scale first. Thinking about going with a golf ball texture style - lots of smallish, close dots.

Haha, imagine that! I'm sending two knives to him in a week that I was going to have golf balled. I sent him a picture of a chuck Rogers golf balling job on a 1911 to work off of. I also have a couple other ideas for patterns, and I'm unsure what one I want, but I sure do want it to be unique and one off...so if you're thinking golf ball, I may not go that route. I'm going to have him replace the liner and make the new scale replace the old g10 and the liner.

No worries. I wasn't sure of what I wanted and he mentioned the golf ball pattern he was doing for another customer. I guess that's you. :)

Feel free to go ahead with it. I want to dig around in his videos and see if there is a pattern that I like. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'd be happy with just a plain scale without texture to have on top of the steel liner. I think the 560 would be a lot nicer with titanium, steel or aluminum instead of the G10.
