Hello, sorry if this has been posted somewhere before, but after a few searches I couldn't find a whole lot.

Does anyone know of Titanium sources that would be good for knife scale material? Searching around, this site sells Grade 2 Titanium http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=322&step=2

,but I also found a post by Tom Mayo where he said that 6/4 Titanium is what most knife makers use. (I'd link to it, but I closed the window and can't find it again.) This page was linked, iirc

As far as working it, I'm assuming you use a file and sand until satisfaction with the finish, being careful not to overheat it as that starts to harden it. I don't know how hard it gets, or how hard it actually needs to be. I am a complete novice in regard to Titanium purchasing, handling, and finishing, so any advice or links to any source would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy New Year.
