titanium screws

What about Halpern Titanium? I think that's right...www.halperntitanium.com? Something very similar to that. They adevertise in the backs of the usual magazines.
 
I do not ever recall seeing anyone advertising or using titanium screws. Is there any particular reason for you to be using titanium? I may be wrong, but I dont think titanium is strong enough for it to be used as a screw. Correct me if I'm wrong. Darrel would be the EXPERT on this.
 
Titanium is plenty strong for screws. They are used all the time in crucial areas on bicycles. Two precautions we take, though, is to tighten crucial stuff down with steel bolts first (i.e. crank bolts) for a tight fit, then also to anti-seize them with the copper based anti-seize compound for `titanium to keep binsind from occurring. I'm pretty sure that www.halperntitanium.com has Ti screws.

thanks darrel....and the rest of you should try look at halperns site.....dont know why anyone said he has titanium screws.... they are hard to find....

Call United Titanium at 1 800 321 4938 they are in Wooster Ohio and sell titanium screws but they are unbelievably expensive I just bought some try, 9.15 each(thats nine dollars and fifteen cents each) for 0-80 socket head cap screws by 1/8".

Hey, Tom, sorry about the wild goose chase. I knew Halpern has Ti stuff, and I knew they had hardware, too, so I thought they might have titanium screws. I guess I could've checked first, but I don't think it was probably that bog of a deal, right?
