Titanium slip joint - Carry for New York City

CRK Umfaan but FYI They're RILs. Mnandis are great too but are also not Slippies either. I saw a Umfaan recently on a sales area of another forum that had zigzag grooves in the Ti that was done by CRK. Oh yeah that and the Umfaan is usually pretty steep in terms of prices.

I thought he meant closed length.

I guess that's open to interpretation unless he chimes in and clears it up.

I just assumed he meant 4 inch or so of blade length since he compared it to his Umnum which has a blade length thereabout.

I'm not opposed to a locking knife as long as it's significantly non-threatening. Like a Mnandi.

I did mean closed length. Blade length should be 3" or around there.

I prefer larger folders, like the Military, but honestly if I do get this job I don't think I can justify carrying a 4" locking knife in blaze orange around ever day, nor can I afford to loose a $400+ knife like the Umnumzaan. The Mnandi would probably fit the bill because it's small and unobtrusive, not going to raise flags with anyone I might run into.

Mnandi is a incredible knife IMO and perfect for office carry. I use one every day and it's like it's not even there until I need it. I also sent you a PM about the listing I saw.

Thanks for the PM.

I will be taking a heavy look at the Mnandi. ;)

How about a Lone Wolf Loveless City Knife? It's a very nice slipjoint.

Read the rules for NYC in the Legal forum or follow the links in Bernard Levines forum.
As I remember them, I'm not a lawyer, yadda yadda...

LESS than 4" blade.
If the knife can be seen (including pocket clips) it can be determined illegal.
If it can be flipped open, including holding the blade and using the handle weight to flip it open aka the biker drop, it can be determined as illegal.
If it has a lock...
Again, read the rules/laws for yourself.

I carry a production slip joint trapper from PJ Tomes.

He also makes a Ti slipjoint, but it is tiny.

Good luck on the interview, NYC is a great place to live and work.
