I'm selling these guys for $65 shipped.

I’ve been looking for an elegant and discreet tactical pen for several years. Unfortunately, the vast majority of tactical pens on the market today look like thinly disguised weapons with ink cartridges inside, and can draw unwanted attention.

Then about a month ago I discovered the Titaner Titanium Tactical Pen, and I immediately ordered one for testing and evaluation. After a month of carrying one around as my EDC, I’ve decided I want to start selling them.

To begin with, I really like titanium, as it offers the strength of steel, with 40% of the weight. However, what sets the Titaner Pen apart from other titanium tactical pens on the market is the fact that it is much more elegant and discreet. It is the size of a normal executive pen, and it has clean, modern lines that are totally non-threatening.

As you can see, the Titaner easily blends in, whereas a larger pen such as the Surefire may draw unwanted attention.

Despite its boardroom looks, the Titaner’s thick, TC4 Titanium construction ensures that it’s just as tough as the more aggressive looking designs.

I’ve been running kubaton drills with mine and it has held up very well to repeated pounding.

Here's a video I did to review it:

It also functions very well as a pen, as it uses the widely available Parker refill, which is made in France. Parker is one of the most popular brands of refills, so you should be able to find a cartridge that suits your tastes – including the Fisher Space pen cartridge (although I personally have always found the Fisher to be scratchy and unsatisfying.)

The pen does have one weakness, and that is the fact that the cap does not post on the back. I do not like that at all. However, any attempt to make the cap post would ruin the clean lines of the pen, so I’ve made my peace with it. If you absolutely have to have the cap post, stick with the Surefire 1 twisty.

Another factor to keep in mind is that the Titaner Titanium Tactical Pen is made in China. Ordinarily I would not be selling a Chinese made product, as I prefer to support US manufacturing whenever possible. However, this is a domestic Chinese design, which means it was designed and produced in China. I consider manufacturing the pen in the country it was designed to be totally different than the practice of designing in the US and then outsourcing the labor overseas.

The fact of the matter is that most of the US tactical pen designs are blatantly aggressive in their appearance, and that good folks at Titaner, who just happen to be Chinese, have come up with a better design. I have spoken to Joyce over at Titaner numerous times, and she has been beyond helpful and professional, and the workmanship on these pens is superb.

As such, I am proud to be offering them for sale.

Looks exactly like the FourSevens Ti pen that was released last week at ShotShow.
Other than price, can you tell us the difference?

The 4sevens pen is made from the exact same manufacturer, Titaner.

The 4sevens version is a smaller, less tactical version of the Titaner Titanium Tactical pen, and can only use Fisher refills, not the wide variety of Parker refills that the full size Titaner can.

The Titaner Tactical Pen is 5 1/2″ long and 1/2″ wide, and accepts both Parker and Fisher refills.

The 4sevens pen is 4″ long and 3/8″ wide, and can only use the Fisher cartridge.

Here's a comp shot from CPF forums comparing the two:

The Titaner Tactical Pen that I am selling is the larger of the two. I feel it’s superior for use as a self defense tool because it protrudes prominently from the hand, which allows for more reliable strikes and trapping than a 4" device. I also believe it to be a more versatile pen, as due to its full size it can use the wide variety of Parer refills, as well as the Fisher.

Can the cap store on the end of the pen when writing?

No, it cannot - must be held separately.

I have been carrying this pen daily for the last two months, and this is by far the best, and most innocuous looking "tactical" pen I've seen. Also, the glass breaker tip can be unscrewed (in case you want to carry it on front shirt pocket, and pass the TSA and have doubts). The barrel is hefty, and weight is substantial, and overall the aesthetics are superb. I had thoughts about getting a Maratac Embassy pen, but after I had this, I spent that money on something else. :-) I did a mini review a while ago on edcforums.

This pen comes highly recommended -- if you wish to have a tactical pen, without the aggressiveness of typical pens found on the market, then this is it. This is the best chance to own this pen (I got mine from Titaner, and had to pay a hefty UPS shipping charge, as they do not send via any other method).

Good luck with the sale.

Actually It's the other way around since the Titaner pen was available some time before 4sevens released their smaller version...

By the measurements, it seems to be very comparable to the county comm TI embassy pen. Does anyone have any pictures of it side by side? I have the embassy pen, but like this one as well, I'm trying to decide if I can justify owning both.

Well thank you for the information gents. Best of luck with the sales...I am really trying to convince myself I don't need one.

I've had mine for almost a week now and I've been carrying it everyday! I'm no pen expert but I'll do a short write-up of my thoughts on the pen when I've had more time with it.
