Sundown Friday is Passover, and Sunday is Easter. Hoping all my friends here have a happy celebration with their families.

I will be at the Harrisonburg Knife Show for both, but might stick on my yarmulke tomorrow evening :)
(Kilt and yarmulke .. now that's multicultural)

Shalom!
Chag Kasher V’Sameach

May your Pesach overflow with happiness...
May you always be blessed with peace,
prosperity and togetherness!
Wishing you a Happy Passover!

He is Risen! ..... (He is risen indeed!)

Blessings of the Risen Christ to you and your family.
Wishing you a Happy Easter!

My understanding of "People of the Book" is that it refers to those of us who believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

I'm familiar with the meaning as it comes up in Middle East related news, I had never heard a person of the book refer to himself as such. Call me curious...

Poeple of The book are those religions that use the old testament as "The Book of Laws" - Jews and Christians.
Because they have the same Patriarchs, the Muslim laws allow the "People of the Book" to practice their religion, and do not interfere ... acording to their book. ( at least in theory)

I agree that it was a misleading title. I think I will change it.

Please don't change it on my account. I was just curious as to the usage of the term. I know what you meant, I just assumed there may have been an element of irony

Dang I wish I knew there was another knife show in Harrisburg. I'd be all over this. How do I get on a notification alert?

Mr. Apelt, There are a few comments on different subjects but I took your meaning in the original message as a wonderful wish for you readers and forum members to have a happy and joyous experience this weekend with their families. Thank you for your kind wishes. I hope that you and your family have a pleasant and fine weekend with your friends and each other. May God bless you all and our Blade Forum family as well. Larry

I'd like to ask for two simple things that everyone can do through this and all other holidays: think of those of us that are at work. The ones keeping you safe, the ones operating the register at the gas station, the ones washing dishes, those working in nursing facilities, working at the movie theater, stocking the shelves at the stores, or staffing the hospitals. Then try to avoid using those services if at all possible. If you gotta dial 9-1-1 I'll be right there and I won't be mad but there's no reason you can't make sure you've got enough mayo for the deviled eggs or fill your gas tank in advance.

I’ll be sharpening knives on Easter Sunday! Ben, if you are in town and can, stop by the Brentwood Farmers Market.. it’s now been three years since you helped that first day! Time does fly!

I wish we had a knife sharpening service at our farmers market! That's pretty awesome!

I can't comment on the Holy side of things but this weekend is special to us for a few reasons. We get together with our close friends to celebrate the Vernal Equinox in the Viking/Norse way. It isn't too formal... just a good meal, beer and lots of cheering with a few headbutts. It is also my birthday on Saturday as well as one of our Viking friend's on Sunday. The kids are looking forward to Chocolate, even though Peter Cottontail doesn't exactly hide stuff anymore. We also visit with our Jewish friend's who tell us all about their traditions. This will be a great weekend.

I wish you a good, safe holiday, my fellow forumites, however you celebrate it.
