to all the regulars on Blade Forums

I think one of the differences that seperates BFC from other online forums is that a lot of the Regulars know each other personally and have met In Person. Even if we haven't met the person we're conversing with on a thread, there's a good chance that we will meet or know someone else personally that they do know. Since most of these folks are armed to the teeth you may want to watch what you say. ;)

I look at BFC as one big semi-disfunctional family. I've lost family members here that I cried more about than some of my real family members. This isn't a Virtual Community for me, it's a real community. When a regular here like Vampire Gerbil or Jake Evans loses their wife, are sick and need help, my first thought is to pull the community together and do whatever needs to be done.

Not only do I like to see members helping members I like to see folks supporting BFC. I think it's dead wrong to not help Spark keep this place up and running. Anyone that hasn't saved or learned more than the cost of membership here probably shouldn't be calling themselves a Member.

i think the main thing here is that other forums are rampant with pubescent teenagers and e-thugs, whereas most blade enthusiasts here are either in college or much older. we have a few young-un's here, but i think that the maturity level required to have a hobby of collecting knives at such a young age is fairly high, and from what I have observed the younger guys here display it well.

This is for the board moderators, I would like to post in the knife makers forums, but it says I am blocked, I have lots of custom knife questions, any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Please post bug reports in the Service & Support forum where we'll see them.

You can't post ads in the Knifemakers For-Sale forums unless you get a Knifemaker Membership, but you should be able to post in the other forums. If you can't please post in Service & Support telling us what happens when you try to post. Just saying "I can't post" with no details doesn't help us much. What error message do you get? Does your monitor explode or is it the keyboard? That's the kind of information we need to figure out what's wrong.

Alright, I'll try again and post in the Service thread, I just want to ask some knife steel questions. Can I post them here and you move them to the knifemakers thread?

Bladeforums is a great place, and you know what? It's getting better all the time! A couple of years ago the vinny77 situation would turned into a real mess, and we would never have been able to get the warranty thread back on track.

Bladeforums is a wonderful school. Civility on threads depends on the forum or subforum but in general is pretty favorable unless you are trolling. And there is a line there. With the Political forum, if you are a liberal, you are pretty much toast. There isn't a groundswell for a worthy opposition in Political. More likely, every conservative/liberatarian will pressure you out. Either put on the coat and weather it, or move on to greener pastures. And mind you, I'm not defending liberal trolls who pretty clearly posted in political to cause trouble. Rather, it's those with a progressive perspective who want to be heard but are being drowned out. Bottom line. Bladeforums is a great place to be. It's why we are all here. I've learned so much about steel, brands, martial arts, self-defense. Hats off Kevin, Cougar, et. al. Thank you.

Like any other "community", there are occasional flare ups and we get our share of trouble makers. But, BFC is a great place to hang out.

...this place is a haven of civility in the howling, jerk-infested wilderness of the internet. I'm glad to have found it. You guys are a class act.

Personally, I think you are all a bunch of dinks. Of course, I'm kidding, but I couldn't resist being a wise-a**. I honestly love the forums. When I have a question about anything blade related I turn to my fellow forumites. I have seen some back and forth squabbles on occassion, but it is rarely malicious. If knowledge is power, then Bladeforums is a good battery charger.
