To anyone considering a H.I blade read this...

I remember you were a little nervous about your initial purchase. I am glad your worried were put to rest and you received a piece of HI art. I think you can understand why we all love them now and why one just isn't enough.

Bawanna... Your reading comprehension is just fine, you formulate your sentences with proper structure and the point you are trying to convey is always received.

Would you mind telling my sophomore english teacher that. She just didn't get it. Course back then maybe I didn't get it either. We didn't like each other much.

One of my favorite authors is Hunter S. Thompson, his form of gonzo journalism really peaked my interest in writing form and sentence structure. He brought a very unique way to convey his points though the written word.. RIP.

I find some of your writings reminiscent of his style even though it may be purely accidental. I quoteded him in an earlier post and you responded by saying it was very "deep". The quote was "All energy flows according to the whims of the great magnet, what fools we are to defy it."

Another quote that has always struck a cord with me was from Dr. Johnson... "He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man." Thought you might like that one Bawanna. I have a bunch of these quotes/proverbs floating around in my head. I call upon them in stressful situations to remind me I am just a simple human like everyone else. I need to not take myself so seriously. I find it easier to forgive myself for my mistakes, and in turn I forgive people for their mistakes much more easily.

I'm writing that down. the beast of himself line.

I hope to someday advance to the simple human status. I find myself somewhat beneath that most of the time. I do have my moments of course but nothing consistent or noteworthy.
Something to strive for I reckon.

On a side note not worthy of posting elsewhere I had a rather disconcerting dream last night where I was Bookies anvil!

I can't make this stuff up.......no reasoning or logic but I was sure taking a beating and it was HOT too. Were does that come from. Maybe I need a shrink or he's into voodoo or something..........

I think one of them old timers told me once that if there weren't any pics then it didn't happen.

Been thinking about getting one those HI's but sure would like a pic or two.

By the way, I was riding the motorcycle I bought from Evil Kneivel and happened to be riding by John Wayne's cousin-in-laws house and they were having a garage sale. I picked up a Bowie knife made in the early 1830's. Don't know much about it but it has the name "Jim" scrawled on the hilt. Guy only wanted eleventeen dollars for it.

Well I can't help but feel I been bamboozled but I want that bowie. Was that John Wayne's first cousin in law Thelma Louise or second cousin law Abner Dobbs, no matter really, they are neighbors.

Are you new to this subforum? Browse through the postings for the past few days or weeks. The postings contain many pictures of HI blades, both those for sale recently and pictures of older blades posted by forumites. For example a recent posting about the YCS shows quite a few examples of that model. Another posting about Hanshees shows examples of that blade. And so forth.

The pictures in this subforum are mostly of a higher quality than the generic photos at the HI online store, and show a greater variety of lengths, weights and individual variations -- including both standard models and custom ordered blades. Here are a few of my favorites:

Tarwar by Young Sher kami, 29" OAL, 41 oz.

BDC by Bura kami, 14" OAL, 17.5 oz.

Chitlangi Bowie by Sher kami, 15.5" OAL, 28 oz.

I guess I'm still "new" here since I joined on 09/18/13 but my wife will tell you I'm certainly not "new".

I was actually bustin' the OP's chops a little about the pic since he just joined last month and put in a great description of his HI and then left me wondering what it looked like. Everyone here knows we love pics, right?

I totally got that, am I the only one that totally got that?

Pictures or it didn't happen.

Hmmm does this mean I don't get the bowie? Or the Evil Knievel scooter or John Waynes cousin in law?

I still got first dibs on the bowie! Unless it's got training wheels the Evil Knievel scooter is useless to me.
