To Blue or not to Blue ?

I know I started this thread as if I had a choice, but I do not. I must blue. But I thought you might want to see what the knives could have looked like as they are not glued up yet. This is the order that came from the E bay auction customer who did not get a chance to bid and asked me to make one similar. I made two and will let them pick the one they want. there might be one left over. I am waiting on sheaths from Chris at Treestump. The blades have an edge wrap and I call this pattern Mystic Fire Wheel, and I have big plans for it in the future. enjoy

Easy choice for me Dave, I like them better "not blued". That's not to say they aren't beautiful "blued".
I absolutely love the pattern and feel the blueing takes away from it.

How about giving them a light etch and then bluing?

The bluing highlights the nickel, but makes the pattern less distinct. Each way gives a different presentation that are both beautiful in their own way. My preference is for the non-blued blades.

Absolutely terrific knives. I have to say I quite like the look of the blued blades, but if I prefer the non-blued look. Great work!

Excellent knives, Dave, and an awesome pattern! I'd want them unblued myself. It might have worked if they were hot gun blued, but even then the pattern is so fine it would get lost.

Hmm, edges welded down both sides and it could make a helluva dagger!

I think perhaps if it wasn't a traditional blade the bluing would work better. Not that I don't like the blued blades but if it was a more "modern" piece.

I assumed the customer requested the blueing? Since Dave seemed a little unsure.
