judging by the feedback you've received, that's a sound business decision:thumbup: But so is adhering to your client's requests:thumbup: In addition to making great knives:thumbup:
The bluing does make the nickel "pop" but it would probably work better on a bolder pattern. That pattern needs to be seen. You might try playing around with cold blue. I have been able to get a subtle "french gray' look with that stuff on 1018.
I'd think that a simpler bolder pattern would work nicely with blueing and that smaller/finer details will get lost in there. I can't tell what it looks like up close and need to see it in person.
I love how that steel looks though and the knives are really nice too. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt the business to produce a knife like this every hear and there. Maybe one per show? There is always someone out there who is interested in the blued stuff.
Jonathan I will do that as that is what started this. I took one blued blade to blade west this year and it sold and then was sold on E bay I know the buyer made money. good for him maybe he will by one next show. Thanks again everyone.
Food for thought. I no longer blue knives that are glued together. The time will come when that customer has scratched or worn that blue and will want it re-blued back to new. I only blue folders and take down knives. Take this for what it's worth. Nice knife.
