to Buy or Build - Propane Forge

Ahh ok that makes sense. So what I am taking away from this my to do list looks like this.

1.) Add another inch of wool maximizing heat concentration. This will also raise the floor of the forge and it should bring it to the bottom of the opening I have in the front door now
2.) I will put a latch on the back similar to what I have on the front and make an opening at the floor of the forge level.

So with these fixes in mind what can I expect? How should I proceed in getting the fallen strong but not wild? Will these changes allow me with ramp up the air/fuel without big flames coming out? I understand there will be some flames but if you look at this video at about 1:35 the flame just change from wild to streamline. Is this a higher fuel to air ratio doing this? Or is it more air to fuel?

Again thank you so much for reaching back. I know I am a huge noob and sometimes my questions might just seem dumb.

I will work to make those changes this week and get some more practice in fine tuning.

It looks in the video that he has adjusted the air/fuel ratio for a cleaner burn.

You changes sound good.

BTW, burner alignment plays in the story, too. Sometimes it needs to be moved in or out a bit for a better burn ( even on a blown burner).

I forgot to mention that the forge will not run right until everything is done and the refractory has been fully cured and fired. Once all is lined and the satanite and ITC-100 are slowly fired and brought up to full heat over about 15-30 minutes it should be able to be tuned to a nice red interior.
