To Clipit or not to Clipit

If I'm working I clip it. But otherwise the knife goes into the bottom of my right pocket. Although for some strange reason I don't remove the clip

Unless it's a knife I'm just "test driving" for Sal, the clip get removed before it goes into my back pocket for the first time. I've carried a knife back there pretty much every day for the last 60 years, never lost one, never damaged one, and never scratched anything I did not intend to scratch with one. Beyond that, I just think it's better not to advertise, have no need to do "quick draw" with a knife, and, like Chris, I hate the feel of the clip against my hand while I'm using the knife. I'm sure some folks find the accessibility offered by clipped carry worth all the potential negatives, but I don't.
I see your point, we are all creatures of habit. I actually use the clip as an integral part of the knife, using it to actuate the blade. I too have carried for many years and, for a majority of them, used a clip. Yep a matter of habit!

I used to clip it, but haven't been doing it anymore, since the cargo pants I wear will get torn/frayed pockets much faster than with jeans. I carry the knife, clip and all, down inside my pocket. The PAC Salt is perfect for that, as it's hardly noticeable yet easy to find due to its size. The only time I use the clip is when I'm driving, I clip it to my seatbelt.
