the spirit dye worked well -- used a q-tip to paint it on, waited a few minutes, then used a toothbrush and some dish soap to scrub the excess off -- no color bleeding after that.
started with "ox-blood" dye and it came out a lot like TTD's rose red, so added usmc black over the top and ended up with an incredibly dark purple.
looks black unless it's in full sunlight and you have to be pretty close then.
