wait till monday when Bill martino gets back online with possible deals but keep a close eye and fast e-finger or others will get the deals first.... those deals fire up feeding frenzys..

A...List all posts for about the last 100 days
(option is at the bottom of the HI forum thread listing,
---Select the time period, then you Must click GO)

B...Then click on the Thread Starter column label to re-sort the thread listing.

C...Then Page down to the B's to find Bill Martino.

Most of the threads he starts are sale offers.
Browse these posts to get a good idea.

Blems are 99% appearance, and sometimes virtually un-noticable.
The best deals around.
And you get to actually see what you're buying.

FWIW, every HI khuk I own has been a blem, and I couldn't be happier with them. They're not made to be only admired, their real beauty comes out when they are used. The little flaws in the blems make it a bit easier to take them out to get dirty and scratched. Uncle Bill won't sell a khukuri that isn't functional, and he doesn't sugar coat the issues that they have. And if he doesn't catch the flaws, Yangdu does :D . Glad to have you here, have fun but don't steal all of the blems!

given my budget (family of 4, in Hawaii, on an NCO's paycheck), I'll probably try to grab a sale item as my VERY FIRST HI blade. Something I can take to the field for clearing fields of fire, chopping left and right limit stakes, etc...for use and abuse, to learn what a Khuk can do.

I'll educate the missus as to where she needs to do her Christmas shopping, so I can eventually get something NICE! :D
 
Another very useful technique for saving big bucks is to never log on before 6-7 pm because by then all the best deals have been snapped up.

(I can't begin to tell you how much this has done for my budget!)
