6 ounces??? :D

I don't think you can improve on that one. :p

I have taken to keeping my vodka in the freezer. Shaking in a tumbler actually waters down your drink just a little.

Looks like you can just about fish from your back porch there Knife. How are the trout this year?

Trout in the South? Only in the mountains...

That's sounds like a winner!!

Yeah the wine glass full keeps me busy for a little while, and gets rid of the fractions:) on portions

I sort of assumed he was in the mountains somewhere. Geography isn't my strong suit I'm afraid, and all the places I've been in SoCal that resembles his pics are up in the mountains. My bad. So what do you have in little streams like that in WV?

only in the mountains...

well.... I am still south of the Mason Dixon line anyway.;)

Yeah Bubba I wished that was my back porch. I would have to use a log or cut down a tree for a porch on my place, but atleast this rental is just down the road about 15 miles.

But it was still little too cold for the little ones to be in a tent. Coming soon though:D

I am on the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River that comes out of Snowshoe. ITs a ski resort close to 5000 ft. I am around 3000 ft which is about as low as you can go for natives.

Its a world class brook trout fishery, and is stockedfrom trains by the state. It holds rainbows, brooks, and goldens.

about 15 miles up stream is where Ford auto showed old pics in their ads of Truman and Mr Ford going fishing back in the day.

Its surrounded by 3-4 National Parks, Wilderness areas etc. It is year end year out has the highest harvest ratios of Deer, bear, and turkey for the whole state of WV.

For years the mountain highlands were Native Indian hunting grounds:thumbup:

I've really been trying to develop a taste for martini's, but vermouth is just unpalatable to me.:barf:

Guess I'll stick to my mug of scotch and shamefully cheap beer.

heres a recipe to fix ya right up.

Hogtinni

6 ozs Gin/vodka
2ozs extra dry vermouth
1oz olive juice

all shaken. not stirred:grumpy:

strain it and add 4 olives:thumbup:

all better:thumbup::D

Almost man... Almost...

Lose the Olive Juice and it'll be perfect!!

That is a lot of vermouth.

I use about a half teaspoon with three oz Vodka or Gin and about the same (half tsp) olive juice.

Better still skip the olive juice and just run the cork from the vermouth bottle around the rim as you pour the frozen gin over your olives. then try to speak in complete sentences.

Or you can just drink good scotch

What ever happened to a cold beer, a warm fire and a big knife?

Martini's? The closest I get to a more sophisticated drink like that is Pimms but only on a hot day or after a game of rugby.

Very nice piece of land you got there.

Or you can just drink good scotch

that is the norm:thumbup:

if I am slumming then its rum or bourbon.

but what ever is in the cabinet will do in a pinch.:D

will try cutting the vermouth in half:cool::thumbup:

its just that well everything is cheaper than good scotch, and it doesnt ring my bell the same.

I can drink too much scotch to be healthy. 1/4 -1/3 rd bottle in a sitting gets old and expensive quick. Plus its too easy to just pour a shot.

I find myself drinking it when I walk by the liquor cabinet.

the tinnis and others take a little effort to make.:D

I tried that and realized I hated martinnis.....well i realized straight gin or vodka sucks....to me.

It needs a little flavor:thumbup: but I get your point;)

True enough - what's your favorite?

Oh man there are so many good ones.

A real easy drinking scotch is GlenDronach 12Yr.

Other good ones that are not hard to drink for a person new to Scotch:

Glenlivet Nadurra
Oban
Talisker
