This is for everyone's entertainment:

Any pictures of CRKs with dings, smudges, chips, wear/tear and everything else that comes with some solid use (good knife care/maintenance/upkeep aside)?

Granted when I get my hand on a Sebenza one of these days I probably won't do more than open boxes and letters - but there have to be a few CRKs out there that look like they have been to hell and back.

Thanks.

I usually let my users get just so far before I send them in for an overhaul. Never had an edge chip or roll though. I recently saw a early South African Jereboam I, sawback on here, damn/(oops) near wore down to a whole different size:eek: ...close to a Mark IV, sawback.:D it was very interesting to see!

Lost in a driveway, two snow storms and 25 days later recovered.

Yep, flitz took care of everything on the blade, I left the handle marks:

Here's the cool part, after I took it apart and wiped it out and relubed, perfectly smooth as before. Lock up was perfect. Clearly it had been driven over a few times as well. I later sent it to Tom Krein to sharpen it up for me.

That guy is looking real sharp now. definitely more character on the handle. handled it's adventure well, cleaned up even better. Nice to see their durability in action.

Dave, that is awesome --- bet you did a little dance when you found that one...

My first sebbie will be a EDC blade and used. battle scars just add character

nukemkb, EDC? how long you had her?

DaveH -- Great photos and and an even better story. I wonder if your seat belt took it out of your pocket when you got out of your car at your friend's house. I snapped off the original Ti clip from my large regular Seb when it snagged on my seatbelt as I hopped out of my truck. Now I subconsciously check it when I get out of any vehicle. I like your decision to leave the handle scratches; now your Seb has "dueling scars", so to speak. They add character, and are probably a good conversation starter.

Ted Voorde -- Based on the CR signature on the blade, you EDC one of the rare flat ground Sebs. Good for you. I've been leaving mine locked up. Maybe I should enter it in the rotation.

Thanks to both of you gentlemen for sharing your photos. Maybe that should be our goal, to scratch up/add character to all our knives before we go.

Damn, that's beautiful!:)

Sebenza's are meant to be used! I just can't get past the idea of a fancy high-end Sebenza that just sits in a safe.

If you asked me what I would do with a sebenza back when I 1st got into knives when I was 11 years old, I would ahve told you that for a $400 knife it would sit in my collection...back then I used cheap knives, and collected expensive ones...but these days being older and wiser I know these beauties are made to be used...Now, that being said I still dont see myself using a $2,500 custom...lol...not until I get one in my hands...:D
