Some of the things that you could do are interesting, but at what point are you throwing good money after bad? If it is a personal mission, go for it, but if you are just trying to get stuff back so you don't have to buy new stuff, it doesn't seem cost effective. Also, if the insurance company paid you, they might have a right to the stuff even if you do find it. That's the way it is on auto losses, but I dont' know about theft. (i.e. if they total your car and pay you for it, the insurance company then can take the car and salvage it or scrap it)

To hire a PI or not?

Thanks for all of your suggestions, I appreciate it. Unfortunately my device is off-line for now. Either the battery had run down or it’s been moved outside of range. I’ve declined going with a PI for now, don’t think it would do much good at retrieving my items; I’ve pretty much given up on that. There have been several suggestion that have been helpful however, and I will continue to pursue those. Thanks again.
