To loctite or not to loctite? Zaan & Seb 25 owners.

This is another reason why I prefer the pivot system on the Regular, Classic, and 21.

I know right. I just got my first Reeve, a small sebenza 21, got a large 21 on the way too, and the bushing system is one of THE best knife innovations on the market today. Not only does the bushing system make the action amazingly smooth, It's just so badass being able to crank the pivot screw down and having the safe action and a centered blade every time. This hasn't deterred me from wanting a 25 though and I'm awaiting the day Reeve knives calls me to charge my card to ship it.

Well, I just took my Zaan apart to put in some of the Chris Reeve grease that I ordered. I previously had mine blue Loctited and it was secure, yet easly taken apart.

BTW, the white stuff you all see thats on the pivot is the residue of Loctite (turns milky white when its set)

The grease is now applied and I put another drip of blue loctite and it is good to go until the next time around.

I tightened my pivot slightly tighter than flickable. Any looser I feel is too loose and the pivot isnt applying enough torque against the ti handles if set any looser.

I haven't disassembled my 25 since I got it, but it's needed absolutely nothing. No lube, no screws backing out, nothing. Great blade.

I've taken my 25 apart twice, never put loctite on, just used what was on there from the factory and I have zero issues

I found the screws tend to loosen quicker depending on the scale material. They adhere better to the titanium, than all others.

Interesting, it seems like a lot of people are not using loctite with their 25. Though with how often I clean my knifes, Teflon tape might be the best option.
