I will be buying knife blanks premade, then I will finish out the knife with raw materials I have purchased and hopefully sell them here, or elsewhere.

My questionis:

when I complete the knife, is it "bad", "wrong", "unethical" or in any way not proper, to add my logo? I WILL of course state in the description where I acquired the blade and specifically state that I DID NOT make the blade itself??
..........which I will do, logo or not
thanks,,

Put your logo on it.

There's nothing "wrong" with using blanks so long as they are advertised as such.

I agree, if you use a pre-made blank, and make a knife from it, you made a knife. If you say you ground it from a bar of steel, then that is a lie. If you say you used a "Unfinished Factory Blade" and then handled and finished the knife, it is the truth.

However, the logo should be one that does not imply a custom or handmade knife. "Johnson Custom Knives" would be a poor choice. "F.R. Johnson - Toledo, OH" would be good.

Show us some photos of your work.
Also, fill out your profile. It will help a lot if you plan to sell things.

Logo it, you still have to put in a lot of hand work and finish the knife, just state that you buy blanks. Maybe that is what I should do sell knife blanks...lol I always am running out of supplies for handle material and it takes forever to finish a knife.

thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

I have the parts to make the etcher, so now it's up t me to put them in the correct place!!
