Hello Phil: You really caught me with that deal on my new book. I think I need to switch occupations, I will team up with you, we can do some photo stuff and write a book. With a cover like that it would probably sell better than the one with knives on the cover. Think about it, we will be rich!
Or maybe we can just put that photo on the cover of my 52100 cookbook, (not finished yet) and seal it in plastic so no body can open it until they buy it, get it on the stands and----- Heck its gotta sell

she'll make me sell my stuff and get a real job
or something I just convinced her
to let me do it full time.
I like staying home....
For me... if the hart isn't in it while making a knife it
won't come out right anyway, so if it was just for the money,
at least for me, it would be just junk (not my intended and best work),
I get pretty attached to all my knives during the making and
after they're finished,
it's getting a little easier to let them go but
I still feel like a piece of me is going with them.
I still look at them and can't believe I did that..
it's one of those warm and fuzzy feelings .Dan

For me, the biggest thrill I have experienced so far as I venture deeper into my knife addiction is asking a Maker to do a VERY SPECIAL project, leaving the artisitic finish touches up to the MAKER. Then just moving forward with life, knowing that in a year or whenever the maker is DONE, getting this piece of masterful work just loaded with sweat, blood ( ouch, that is sharp)frustrtation and the drive and desire to have it PER-FECT
The anticipation is awesome, on those days that seem to never end, just thinking about the day the knife will arrive seems to make the day seem a little brighter. For the TRUE MAKER, these same feelings and emotions are transferred and multiplied over and over and over again.
So, all bullsh*t aside, Makers do, BECAUSE they want to, if NOT, the finished product would show their lack of heart and soul and it would mean BACK to the workforce .....wolf
