Sal,
It is my understanding that the Caly3 is one of your designs. I got my Caly3 CF with ZDP-189 last week. I must say, I am impressed. The design is excellent. It falls into my hand like it was custom made for me, both choked up into the choil and thumb ramp as well as behind the choil. Reverse grip is great too. Wow, what a slicer! The full flat grind, edge angle and the ZDP-189 make for some great cutting performance ( and I look forward to sharpening less often). The way the thumb ramp recurves back into the blade spine...nice. 13mm opening hole, just right. Little relief/cutouts in the liners behind the pivot, excellent. Weight/balance...optimal. Lockup is superb, opening/closing action is smooth and solid. Spring rate on the lock is just right IMHO.
I've been buying knives for a *long* time and have owned more that I care to talk about but I don't often acquire one that I have little or nothing that I would change once I get it and even less often do I get the opportunity to compliment the designer.
So, Sal, let me say unto you...Good job sir! The Caly 3CF is as close to EDC nirvana as I have been in a very long time.
Mike
