Was wondering if one should offer a sheath with a collectors knife? The knife I made has MOP handles and gold pins. Usually I do lined sheath, but in this case I don't know. Your thoughts on this would be great.
Just in case the picture did not attach it is at http://members.home.net/thknives/Pearl.htm

Thank you,

I could only offer two suggestions or thoughts on the matter.
1. A knife is basically a tool and needs a way to be carried. True there are those that have turned them into art work, but it is still a tool. In the case of such a knife, the sheath needs to be of the same quality.
2. When such a piece of art is not carried it needs a display stand or box. Again, such a box or stand needs to be the same quality as the knife.
And you thought the work was done

Unless it's a large dagger or other display piece i'd say it should have a sheath. I also have a drawer full of sheaths that will never have a knife in thme as long as i own them for the very reason you mentioned. But a sheath is usually part of the package.
