could go tube-on-micarta, OR make some G10 scales, no tube necessary (as long as it's not SUPER polished).

I thought of that but kind of seems like a waste to cover up the micarta. ESP since I could get thirty bucks for it ;)
 
Try rubbing your palm with 80 grit every morning, maybe it's not the knife that doesn't have enough grip maybe it's your delicate hands ;)

indeed. you could texture it, tho. THAT would be sweet.
I'm giving you a hard time 'cause I wanna see some textured micarta without doing it myself. :D
 
Now I'm getting ideas. What if I sanded it with rough paper and then used rung oil?

in my experience, oiling micarta does nothing useful.
I wouldn't finish it any finer than 360grit. maybe 280 or 180.

Hmm to Junglas or not to Junglas that is the question of the morning. Maybe I should get rid of a couple of these extra 16's.

Save the 2 hundy and apply it to a RBK, they are in the same size/use range and the RBK is soooooo smexy.

Junglas is very nice -- and if you don't like it, a BK9 carries very nicely in the sheath...

If you take a piece of 360grit sandpaper and split it the thin way, you end up with two pieces of 180. Seems to put an ideal finish on micarta. Gotta use the wet/dry type, though, the wood sandpaper just tears when you try this.

yeah same here, I come in contact with many people on some sort of assintence(through work) and the ones I deal with usually make more money than I do, engaging in illegal activity.
