So Santa dropped off my first, and only, Sebenza today. Now the big question...

Do I use it or safe queen it?

What say you bladeforumites?

If carried, It would share time with my SnG.

If it suits your cutting requirements, use it. If your'e looking for an investment, it will probably do as well as a Certicate of Deposit at 0.5%.

Why would you not carry it? They are made to be used and excel at so many tasks. So let it sit right next to your SNG and make sure to let it cut some stuff. Sebenzas have a tendency to get jealous!

I do not own things that I will not use. I smoke all my pipes, I shoot all my guns, I drive all my cars and I certainly use all my knives.

If you want something valuable to sit and look at, buy gold.

+1

It's a tool, not a Van Gogh.

I have never purchased knives as investments - I use everything.

Put it to good use.

You have a knife that will last you a lifetime if cared for properly.

The only hesitation I have is because I've waited and saved so long to get one. It's such a great "in the hand" blade that I think I must carry it. So, into the rotation she goes.

I'll trade you for the lump of coal that I got. The coal will take up less room in the safe and can be re-gifted next year. :p

Use it. ;)

One of the best replies EVER.

I can't bring myself to spend that much money on a folder though. Use it and enjoy it.

Think of a knife as a beautiful woman, would you just look, or would you...okay, maybe that's not a good analogy...

Or maybe it is...:D

Yep -- the only way you'll truly appreciate it is if your use it, and use it often, and disassemble, clean, and lube it a few times. But if you're like me, and you have to have one minty fresh in the safe, then the only solution is to get another one -- that way you'll have one for the safe and one for the pocket. That's how I roll. . . .

Personally, I would keep it safe. Then again I don't have a knife worth over $50. Except one, but it's a family thing.
