To wave or not to wave on the Delica?

The waved Spyderco's work great for deployment, and opening beer bottles:thumbup:
The placement of the wave means the blade strength is not compromised.
Plus(although this may be considered heresy:p), I like the look of the waved Delica and Endura BETTER than the original. Just improves the look of the blade profile, in my opinion.

I have both and prefer the unwaved for an edc. Sometimes I want to pull the knife out without scaring the crap out of everyone around me.

I re-read the thread and realized that the OP wasnt talking about modifying an existing knife but buying the wave model. I agree with your statement.

Thanks again for all of the advice!

I assume that I could always change the pocket clip on the delica for "tip down" carry if I had a problem with the blade deploying when I didn't want it to (then I could still have the benifit of a bottle opener.)

Also, anyone else get any "funny looks" or "wierd comments" from people about how a waved blade looks?

I don't get any comments or looks from anybody... I try to limit my contact with people who have chosen to take the "blue pill". Everyone else thinks it's sweet.

If you are relying on a waved knife as a self defense tool you will be either disappointed or dead. Too close and not lethal enough.
If you want a waved knife as a play thing then go for it.
