I've got a Spyderco D'Alton "Toad" in transit and think I'll really like it.
When I first saw it I thought it was the ugliest knife on the market.
Obviously, and after months of consideration, I've changed my mind.
This is a knife that will suit my daily urban chores and it will retain it's clip

Anyone else out there who owns this little dude and can comment ?
Thanks, Bill

Personally, I think the TOAD is the ugliest knife I've ever seen. Thats why I fell in love with it immediately and had to buy one. I had my wallet stolen once and lost 300 dollars. Now I have a TOAD watching my money in my front pocket. It didn't help that a week after I got it, I was opening my mail with it at the post office and a very attractive blond told me how cute it was. We started talking and we are dating now.

p.s. She has one now also

That's what I needed to hear klut

I'm sort of on the market myself these days.
My 12 lb Japanese Chin has a Spyderco mini-police neclace that sure draws ladies attention. I probably should leave him at home as he keeps their attention too.

Kelly, my clip fetish is a "feel good" thing.
I've left the clip on my carbon fiber Dragonfly, but removed the clip on the s/s one. One of the most "changed" knives is the Wegner JR sans clip. So is the Carnivour.
All the clips are off my Sebenzas and plugged by Reeve's cool titanium milling.
The Umfaan didn't have a clip, nor did my Klotzlis.
take a benchmade 3500 Mel Purdue auto and remove it's clip. Bet you never put it back on

I hear ya, Bill. The first thing I did with my Crawford Carnivore was take the clip off. It came with the clip on the butt-end for tip-up carry. In that configuration the clip severely interferes with the grip IMHO. I've taken to carrying it in an LDC horizontal sheath when its turn in the carry rotation comes up. A buddy of mine had the Crawford in a tip-down cinfiguration and the clip didn't interfere with the grip at all, so mine's going back to Pat and Wes to have the pivot end drilled and tapped so I can move the clip.

To tell the truth, the knife that I've been carrying for the past several weeks is a Case Pocketworn Copperlock in a horizontal nylon sheath that Cris Reeve sells for the small Sebenza.
