Today is a good day to start carrying a knife

Without one, I doubt that infant could have been saved in time to prevent permanent damage.

Anybody else ever have to actually use the glassbreaker on a rescue knife?

Please do yourself a favor, if you haven't already, and take some comprehensive first aid classes, including infant first aid. I notice a lot of people with the "survivalist" or "defense" mindset go all out on guns/knives/gear to "be prepared" but almost all I have asked in person don't have the foggiest clue about first aid, and it is a skill you are way more likely to use to good effect in your life than using a knife or gun will.
