Attention Today is a *SPECIAL* Day

It's kinda weird thinking that I'm just a year older than the forum I lurk on every day. Ya'll are a bunch of enablers. Without this place I don't think i would have gone from a tac forc with a freaking flashlight to owning a few blades in the 200+ range in just a few months.

Here's to you BF! Here's to another 20 years of sharp metal and light wallets

Congratulations Spark, and thanks for all you’ve done to make this the great place it is.

I've had fun here, and have never felt the need to go to a different place. Congrats!

Would spend another decade and a half here.

Congrats and thank you all for making this place so fantastic.

I agree it's the members that make and keep the forum ... but we couldn't do that if you hadn't had the concept and put the time and effort into starting this place out Spark Spark ... and a thank you to all the Mods that put in there time to watch out for everything on here.

Happy 20th BF!

Bladeforums has helped me through a chunk of my life. Spark I'm grateful

It's been a fun and enjoyable ride since the split. Congrats on the big anniversary!

I'm raising a glass to all those we have lost. In addition to those Spark Spark mentioned, I would add Doug C., Maniacal Pete, and most recently, Dann. :(

Here's to the next 20!!! :D

Has it been that long?

It's Taco Tuesday! Hoorayyyyyyy! Who doesn't love tacos amirite?

It's also the 20th Anniversary of BladeForums.com

It's been an interesting couple of decades, to put it mildly. We've seen dramatic changes in the industry with companies coming & going - historic institutions like Camillus & Schrade fading out then returning under new ownership. Custom knifemakers harnessing the magic of modern CNC to become their own mid-tech powerhouses. Knifemaking has hit the mainstream with multiple shows on cable TV, and forums members like @Big Chris turning into viral internet sensations through blade sports.

On these very forums, people have gone from sketching designs in high school to becoming world reknowned knifemakers & designers for knife manufacturers. Manufacturers like Spyderco have shown that you can experiment with Sprint Runs of exotic steels & materials and the user base will not only gobble up everything they can get their hands on, but provide near real-time feedback of how it performs under all sorts of conditions. The forums remain the single best source for information & end user reviews out there.

I'm not a fan of tooting my own horn, so I'm going to firmly put the credit for this on the shoulders of you, the members of the community. Thank you so much for being a part of this circus, and I hope that you guys continue to keep things festive for another 2 decades.

In conclusion, thank you, and let's lift a glass for those who are no longer with us:
Kit Carson, Walt Welch, Jim Mattis, Dave (Vampire Gerbil), Rob Simonich, Warren Osborne, Bob Loveless, and many more. We miss you.

Spark

Cheers BladeForums, happy birthday and thank you for the best knife community in the internet!

Congratulations everyone!

It strikes me how unique this place is. Truly a phenomenon by itself. It is on the one hand the single most important source of knowledge and expertise on the subject. On the other hand it is not like other forums with their memes and posturing. I wonder if, in 20 years, we'll look back at this thread and reminisce on how things have changed.

I've been around here long enough to know this is the best knife forum. Congrats and here's to another twenty.

Congratulations! 20 Years...thats just awesome! Thanks Spark, and thank you to all who have posted here and helped me understand steels and sharpening over the years!! 20 more here we come!
This place is not only informative, but fun!
